Bree Nieves (b. Oklahoma) is a Pacific Islander Filipina and Afro Puerto-Rican filmmaker. ​​​​​​​


​​​Her work addresses motifs of gender, catholic faith and ritual, southern culture, and the asian and black diaspora in the United States. She is a 2023 SFFILM House Resident, a 2022 Sundance Institute Uprise Grantee and a 2021 Center For Asian American Media Fellow. She is currently in production on "Stretch Marks," a short doc animation and "Arise! My Beloved" a doc short to feature, and in development on her first scripted drama/comedy feature, "Wise-Ass." 

As a producer, Bree has worked in the Documentary and Unscripted sphere, cutting her teeth on zeitgeist driven, pop culture focused feature films and series/episodic for CNN, VICE, BET and NETFLIX. She most recently has worked as Producer for CNN and VICE WORLD NEWS.
